Virgin sheep's wool
ProNatura virgin sheep's wool comes from live animals and is only washed, i.e. not cleaned or contaminated with chemicals. The "comfortably dry sleeping climate" of virgin sheep's wool creates an optimal temperature and moisture balance.
The virgin sheep's wool used by ProNatura is fine, soft, strongly crimped and is sheared from Tyrolean stone or merino sheep, depending on the use. Sheep's wool has an odour-neutralising effect, is naturally antibacterial and cleans itself when it is attacked by bacteria and dirt. Wool can absorb up to a third of its weight in moisture without feeling damp.
Swiss stone pine

Cotton
Cotton is a vegetable fibre and is one of the oldest cultivated plants. The raw material comes mainly from the North African and Asian regions.
Cotton at ProNatura is hand-picked, is not chemically defoliated, not bleached and not dyed. Only "kbA" quality (controlled organic cultivation) and "organic cotton" (organically fertilised) goods are used. The purity of the cotton is checked according to the currently strictest criteria according to the QUL standard.
Cotton has good absorbency, which is particularly advantageous in summer when you sweat a lot while sleeping. Because it is more tear-resistant when wet than when dry, it can usually be washed hotter. As a result, it has an overall lower allergy potential. Cotton is durable, heat-resistant and is also very kind to the skin. It also has an antistatic effect.
The natural ProNatura mite stop
Active substance: Are the natural oil essences based on the extracts of eucalyptus, lemon and lavender which are used under the active ingredient name "PROFYL NK 10", also under the greenfirst brand. ProNatura mite stop contains neither chemical fixatives, nor chemical agents or formol. PROVYL NK 10 does not contain synthetic pesticides, nitrosamines, PCP or any other heavy metals. The active ingredient which achieves the excellent anti-dust mite effect is recognised by the WHO and FAO as a food additive and is also biodegradable.
Effectiveness: The plant molecules contained in the finish are fixed by heat during the drying of the fabrics and become trapped in the core of the fibre. On contact with the finished fabric fibre, the dust mite dies and the population is reduced by 100%. 1/4 of the mite population is thought to develop allergies, it is estimated that around 30% of the population suffer from respiratory allergies, many of which also trigger asthma. The prevalence of these allergic diseases, which mainly affect industrialised countries, has increased in the last 20 years. The WHO classifies them in 4th place worldwide. Source WHO Enviromental Health Criteria Report 1999. The food basis of mites is skin flakes. The effectiveness of the finish against mosquitoes has also been determined after 10 washes at 60°. The natural finish with PROFYL NK 10 has a repellent effect on mosquitoes and is still effective after 10 washes at 60° C. Effectiveness against clothes moths (Tineola Bisselliella), their larvae and eggs was also determined. The natural finish with PROFYL NK 10 is still active after 30 washes at 30°C (wool wash cycle). The study commissioned by Breyner, who is also the manufacturer of PROFYL NK 10, found 100% effectiveness of the mite reduction in the textile treatment to combat dust mites sample no 2188/3 before and after 30 machine washes at 60°C (Intertek Testing Services). The basis was the finish based on 2% PROFYL NK 10. For a treated article that cannot be washed, it can be assumed that the duration of effect of the ProNatura mite stop finish is equivalent to the life of the article. The effectiveness of the natural finish with PROFYL NK 10 is regularly confirmed by the independent laboratory T.E.C. (Techniques Environnement Consultants France) under normal conditions of use.
Allergen-free:Tests carried out under dermatological control have shown that the active ingredient PROFYL NK 10 is hypoallergenic and does not cause irritation to the skin and eyes (Institut Dermatologique d'Aquitaine, Martillac, France).
